Mtume was a percussionist who played regularly with Miles Davis, Buddy Terry, Sonny Rollins, Pharoah Sanders, and others. -

It seems to be something of a commonplace among some black nationalists here in the US that the "true" name of Africa is Alkebulan, or Alkebu-lan, or Al-Kebu-Lan. But I can't fnd anything about where that idea, or the name, comes from. -
